This means 5% do not, I want to find a phone in that 5%. I do not like the concept the government being able to track my where abouts whenever they feel like it, which they pretty much can do.

Anyone have any knowledge on American phone models that fall in that 5th percent?

I am having troubles with gps signals. When I check satellite status it will show that the phone is getting very strong signals, but when i go back to the map it will be always searching for satellites or gps signals.

I really would like to understand the difference between Car GPS and Trecking GPS. Are they similar?

I mean here from the point of syncing with satellites. I saw some trecking GPS that sync with 12 ( 12 channels). Does that mean that they are more sensitive than Car GPS?

Is it possible to use car GPS for trecking icon smile What is the difference between CAR and trecking GPS?

Or are there GPS that can be used for both applications at the same time, and may be also for sailing, let's say icon smile What is the difference between CAR and trecking GPS?

If they are identical hardware-wise, does that mean one can use maps files for cars on a trecking GPS, or vice-versa?

Also, I have used my GPS to go to a friend's new house a few times, each time leaving from my house, and the GPS took me a different route every time. This doesn't make sense to me. I also feel like it takes me a very round-about way sometimes instead of sending me on the quickest way. Why is this?

I have trained him on how to use our home phone and cell phone since he was 6 years old. He knows the do's and don'ts on how to use the phone especially in school. With the GPS technology I will be able to track down his whereabouts if I could not find him. Of course I will respect his privacy too. My biggest concern is that I want to make that he can contact his family in case of an emergency or he can call 911. I know that he is responsible enough but I want to get another opinion about this. Thanks for the input.
