Avoiding The Dangers Of Your Kids And Their Cell Phones
The number of teenagers that own mobile phones is growing daily. Here in the United States the number is currently about 50% of all children under 18 owning a mobile phone.
With so many of our children owning mobile phones (and by the way the number is growing), it is no surprise that we hardly get enough time to spend with our kids.
This is not really a problem as such, but do we really know who it is that they are talking to? Or do we know who they are sending text messages to or receiving texts from?
This is not to say that all children who own a mobile phone are irresponsible, far from it! The majority of children with mobile phones are responsible enough to know what is the right or wrong thing to do with their mobile phones.
But it is always a prudent thing to let your children know the correct way to use their mobile phones once they have purchased one.
There are quite a few children that have been on the Mobile phone so much, that the parents phone bill has been astronomical. We have to teach them from the offset about regulating how they use them, and try to keep involved in what they are using it for.
Make sure there are ground rules as to when the children can use their phones, and what are appropriate pictures or texts to send on their mobile phones.
If your child is a teenager, make doubly sure that they know not to use the mobile phone when they are driving. Whether they are using it to text or answering the phone makes no difference, the statistics show that over 6000 kids die every year in car accidents and nearly 50% of those accidents are mobile phone related.
Keeping your kids informed of any dangers with regards to mobile phones is important to their safety.
