@gansitomarinela38 To add in custom waypoints from other navigating software like Mapsource. The custom waypoints is installed via the USB drive or via the micro SD card.

does this Garmin remember way-points ? Someone I know has one and seems to think you have to enter the data each and every time, and it does not save. (My Tomtom remembers waypoints and saves this). Does anyone know the procedure on this Garmin

    Hi everybody!
I beat yesterday the 107 of the guy from the video upsite.
I drived over 200 Mph (325 Km/h). It is very cool to life in Germany where you can drive so fast as you can.
The Nüvi 205 is great device.

i think that 4 or 5 hours is ok now if you got 4 lines, i think that 12 hours is only the first time

  10. workouthrd says:

Ah OK, now i got it. I had a feeling thats what you mean’t, I just wasn’t positive. I let it run down to 1 battery line before I recharged it. But, again, I only charged it for 4 or 5 hours, although I saw all 4 battery lines back. Any suggestions on what I should do now since I only charged it for 4 or 5 hours?

  11. santicapo10 says:

In the marker of the battery there are 4 lines that indicate the status of the battery, and what i meant was THE FIRST TIME YOU BUY THE GPS, not all the times, i dont know about that cause i got it today, but what i know is that the FIRST TIME you gotta recharge it for 12 hours when it has only 1 battery line left

  12. workouthrd says:

Thanks. I’m confused as to what “2 lines of battery” means?

Basically, are you saying to NOT let the battery go down completely, only close before recharging?

Then I’m guessing let it drain every six months and recharge for battery maintenance?

I only charged mine for about 4 or 5 hours, but its was completely charged.

Garmin should do a better job with in letting people know what to do.

  13. santicapo10 says:

Well, i bought a Garmin Nuvi 205W today and the girl that sold it to me, said that when you buy it it has 2 lines of battery, which is true, then she told me to wait until it has 1 line only and then recharge it for 12 hours

I bought one about a month ago and let the battery get low, then recharged it. Can someone give me some recharging info for battery maintenance. Such as, upon buying the garmin, should you let the battery run down completely or just low? After that, how often is it necessary to let the battery run down (again, low or completely)? I’m looking for specific information about battery maintenance if anyone can send me a message.

It DOES work in Europe, and pretty much everywhere if you just have the right maps. For instance I’m from Finland and I bought the nuvi 205 with nordic countries preprogammed in it. It works just fine and I already bought maps of North America and there’s no problem with that either
